Eye Surface Profiler
for Scleral Profilometry

The Eaglet-Eye ESP is a game-changing tool for fitting contact lenses. It can measure not just the cornea but also the area around the edge of the eye and part of the white of the eye, making it perfect for people who need custom scleral lenses. Its ability to measure a large area with great accuracy helps doctors create super detailed 3D maps of the eye.

For patients, this means faster, more comfortable lens fittings. The process is quicker, and lenses fit better, even for people with more complicated eye conditions. This technology opens the door for more people to enjoy advanced contact lenses that feel great to wear.

Technology We Use

Custom and Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral lenses and other custom designed soft and rigid (RGP) lenses are considered specialty contact lenses. They are custom fit and manufactured to match a patients’ unique eye shape and specific vision needs. There is a growing demand for specialty lenses as many occupations and recreational activities require comfortable yet detailed and consistent vision that may be unachievable with traditional contact lenses.

Optical Coherence Tomographer

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive high-resolution imaging technique used to analyze the distinctive layers of the retina, optic nerve, and cornea. It provides valuable information that can be used for diagnosis and management of many eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. It is also used to assist in the fitting of scleral contact lenses.

Autorefractor

The way light travels from the front to the back of the eye is measured by an autorefractor. It calculates the prescription needed to focus light waves on the retina and helps us determine your glasses prescription by measuring nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

Santinelli Edger

A vital piece of equipment in our lens finishing lab is the Santinelli lens edger. It is part of a system of machines that allows your eyeglass lenses to be accurately 3D traced, cut, and finished flawlessly to fit into your frame. An in-office edger allows us the option of fabricating your eyeglasses while you wait.

Visual Field Analyzer

Also called an automated perimeter, a visual field analyzer is a computerized device used to measure the horizontal and vertical field of vision. The result of the perimetry test can be used to diagnose and manage patients with a variety of eye diseases, such as glaucoma. It can also be used to identify blind spots (scotomas) and detect optic nerve or brain abnormalities.

Corneal Topographer

A color-coded topographical map of the front surface of the eye, known as the cornea, is produced by a corneal topographer. It is a special imaging device that can evaluate irregularities and allow diagnosis of various corneal problems. It is also extremely helpful for fitting contact lenses on patients with uniquely shaped corneas due to conditions such as irregular astigmatism.
